Prizes for the best scarecrows in Marehay - traditional or otherwise!

What fun! Make you own scarecrow and dress him in anything you want. He could be a more traditional looking chap, resemble a famous person or a made up character. Let your creativity run wild!

All you have to do is fill in an entry form, return by 26th August and ensure your scarecrow is in position by Tuesday 30th August. That means you’ve even got Bank Holiday Monday to make those finishing touches. For obvious, reasons, it’s important that your entry form includes your address. Your scarecrow will need to be visible to judges from outside the front of your house, but where you place him, is entirely up to you!

Judging will take place prior to the show and winners will be notified. We also intend to take photographs of the scarecrows in advance of show day so that we can display them on a board so that show goers can see them, should they not meet your scarecrows face to face! We may also use these photographs on our website or in future show materials. Please put a note on your entry form if you would rather that we didn’t take a photograph of your scarecrow.

There are two scarecrow classes:

• Standard
• Junior entries (age 15 years and under)

All winners will all be awarded a prize, and winning scarecrows will also receive a special accolade!
